come along for the ride
Why ride a 250?
In a society obsessed with bigger is better the thought of racing a mere 30 horsepower bike may seem a little odd. The fact of the matter is that many motorcyclists rush off and get the most powerful motorcycle they can without mastering how to ride a less powerful one fist. One of the things the 250 has to offer is that it provides a much more manageable machine to learn on. No you can’t go ripping down the straightway on a 250 ninja, but you can learn how to master corner speed. In order to keep your speed up on the 250 you have carry corner speed or you loose all momentum on these little bikes. Soon I found myself flying around the big bikes in the turns on a track day. Remember, it takes far more skill to go around a corner quickly than to whack your throttle open.
Feel Like a Pro experience:
At the base of the program you are treated as much like a pro as possible. You do not take care of the maintenance of your bike; you basically get out of your car and ride. It’s really nice to only have to load up riding gear before going to the track. You only have to concentrate on riding and nothing else. As a beginner racer this is an awesome advantage. There is always someone there to take care of your needs with the bike, such as checking your tire pressure and putting new tire warmers on.
Not only do you get to rent a race bike, but you become apart of a family when you join Feel Like a Pro. I came into this year of road racing with a mere handful of track days on a sport bike and six months of racing a supermoto bike. The team at Feel Like a Pro helped me grow as rider. I went from being at the back of the pack to finishing in the top ten consistently. The people who rent the bikes are a mix of experts as well as novices so you get a wide variety of experiences to help you along your learning journey on the bike.
